Privacy notice

This notice says what Sidecar stores about you, why, where it lives and how to remove it. It is written to be read, not scrolled past.

Who is responsible for your data

Kaleido Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17516332, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ is the controller of the personal data Sidecar holds.

Anything about your data goes to support@sidecarlife.com.

What we store, and why

  • Your email address and name. To sign you in, and to send password resets and receipts.
  • The tasks, bookings, goals and someday items you add. They are the product: Sidecar ranks them into your today view.
  • The people you add: names, birthdays, when you last spoke, card dates and gift notes. So Sidecar can watch birthdays, cards to post and friends you have not spoken to in a while.
  • The text you type into capture. Kept as a log of what each captured item was made from, so you can check what Sidecar understood.
  • Calendar events and contact names and birthdays from Google, if you connect them on Plus. Read-only, so your existing calendar and contacts appear in your day without retyping.
  • Whether you want the morning summary email, the hour it should arrive, your time zone and the days a summary was sent. So the summary goes out when you asked for it, at most once a day, and so you can stop it at any time.
  • Which screens you use and when. First-party usage counts only, to see whether the product is working; no third-party analytics.

Where it lives

Amazon Web Services, London (eu-west-2).

Who else touches it

These are the only outside services your data reaches:

  • Amazon Web Services. Hosts the product and its database, and sends its email.
  • Stripe. Takes card payments; Sidecar never sees your card number.
  • Anthropic. Turns the text you type into capture into tasks, people and goal steps (the Claude API).
  • Google. Read-only access to your Google Calendar and Google Contacts, only if you connect them on Plus.

How long we keep it

Kept while your account exists and deleted with it when you delete your account.

Deleting your data

Settings > Delete my account removes your account and every record above at once; any subscription is cancelled first.

Your choices

You can download a copy of your data or delete your account, and everything in it, from settings at any time. Lifecycle email has an unsubscribe link in every message. For anything else about your data, write to support@sidecarlife.com.

No tracking

Sidecar runs no third-party analytics script, no browser advertising pixel and no session replay. The usage counts we keep are our own and report totals, never you.
